Love, Laugh, Live - What I Have Learnt In 2014

As most people do at this time of year, I've been thinking about the past 12 months and all that has been going on in my life.

The word of the year has to be change.

So much for me is different than what it was at the beginning of the year. Both personally and professionally, life alterning descisions have been made. Which to be honest I couldn't have made without the care and supprt of my friends, family and also you guys.

You who have supported me by working with me, or following my online feeds or simply by signing up to "The Guest List". The support I have felt has been emense and so for that I have to say...THANK YOU!

2014 has had some steep learning curves for me. I've learnt a lot of lessons, Lessons about people, about life, about business. However, one of the most powerful lessons came to me from the these three words; Live, Laugh, Love.

Three simple words. Words that are are used every day. Three words that I believe are incredibly important for people to apply to their work or business.

You have to love what you are doing, if there is no love then ask yourself why are you doing it? Why do you get out of bed in the morning or why do you work long hours if you have no love for what you are doing? Having passion for your work comes through in everything you do. Your clients, and the people you work with, will see this and this will make them want to work with you more.

Have fun with what you do. Yes there will be hard times, we all have them. Times when you will be stressed, need a break, throw a tantrum but if you continue to bring back the fun and laughter to your work it won't feel like work and the bad times will all be worth it. Events Management is on the many "most stressful jobs" lists for 2014 which is why I find the fun in every task that I undertake.

Have time for yourself. Make sure you maintain a healthy Life/Work balance. When I first went freelance I believed I had to work all the hours of the day to make it happen but I quickly learnt that it's incredibly important to have me time. Go for a walk, go to the theatre or a concert, read a book (not a business book) and ensure you have plenty of sleep. Whatever you do that helps you to relax and recharge do it and you will find your work is a lot less stressful.

I am looking forward to 2015 and what the future will bring for me. I know there will be low points and times when things won't go the way I planned. Hey that's life. However, as long as I include the above three attitudes in my life and business I know the year will be a good one.

Finally believe in yourself.

Your 2015 can be amazing, but it's up to you to make that way.

Over to you...
