After all, what could be better for us than to see beautiful and inspiring images of our events we've created, the venues we've used and the vision we've been working on for months, all coming to life and shared on a platform for the world to see.

People always ask me what it's like to work on some of the events that I run. Instagram gives me a great opportunity to share my world. I love it!
Introducing Instagram-Stories. Are you using IG stories yet?
This is a great way for event planners to share the behind-the-scenes world of events. We can show the venue being set up, lighting and sound checks, and all the other catering, flowers and pre-event jobs we do. Giving your followers a glimpse into the areas of your event they wouldn't normally see.
They are also a great way to give your audience a sneak peak into what's to come and builds the excitement and anticipation around the event.
Up Close & Personal on Instagram Live
Live video gives your followers and viewers another peak-behind-the-curtain of your event. You can offer tours of the venues or set up. You can share behind the scene footage of your event, however, the feature I really like is that you can share back stage interviews with your speakers or your VIP guests.
For more corporate events where you have speakers or panellists this can be a great platform for you to provide added value and share more content.
Engagement, Engagement Engagement
This is a very key word in the world of events. Seriously, this word is so important.
Gone are the days when your audience just come to your events, sit down, listen, maybe ask a questions and then leave. You need to include your audience, get them engaged and interacting with your event.
Get your attendees involved by given them as many opportunities as possible to share YOUR event with THEIR followers.
Not only will this boost the reach of your event but it also gives your event social credibility.
Encourage your attendees to share and provide them with the tools they need to do so. Sometimes we provide props and costumes for them to have fun with, scrumptious looking food for them to post pictures of, a gorgeous venue so they can show off to their followers where they are, and a good event #hashtag so that everyone can follow the story of your event and...

Give them the opportunity to become ambassadors for your event. The best form of marketing is word of mouth!
